Fire Farm was started in 1990 by Adam Jackson Pollock and Benjamin Goldstone. Their passion for light developed from early experience with photography and experimental theater. They embraced this interest for light and began crafting lamps in Oakland, California. Ten years and many lamps later, Adam moved the factory to a new home in rural northeastern Iowa where production is currently headquartered.
Under the creative and engineering direction of Adam, Fire Farm collaborates with designers, artists, interns and its staff to nurture and develop new lighting solutions. Together they explore new materials and ideas with which to sculpt light. Fire Farm brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to all its projects.
Interested in seeing a visual history of Fire Farm's products throughout the years? Visit the Archive section, where we've compiled early and discontinued products. These items are not available for purchase. We may, however, still have access to some parts, or may be able to create a new custom project inspired by an archived product. If you love something found in our archives, please ask us about customization possibilities.
OVER 20 YEARS OF FIRE FARM
In 2010, we celebrated the 20th year of Fire Farm Lighting! So much has changed in our industry during the last two decades. It has been invigorating to be a part of these technological developments and to have such wonderful new resources available for our creative expression.
We invite you to visit our factory in Elkader for a tour, or take a virtual tour through our new Archive section, which documents some of the development path Fire Farm has taken during the last twenty years. I wonder what we should do for the next twenty?
